KL’s objectives are… improved conductivity, enhanced signal integrity, higher resolution, and improved connection. KLEI™Harmony Architecture (since Sept 2014, began Feb 2014)

The conductive pins of the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana are formed/manufactured using our proprietary high conductivity alloys and we believe that they have an IACS rating >101%, and even >106%, ensuring the highest levels of conductivity. When compared to a typical gold plated brass connector used in the vast majority of deluxe connectors, the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana range, utilizing our proprietary high conductivity alloys, achieves improvements in conductivity exceeding 320%. Proven metallurgical choices result in improved signal transfer and electron flow, which is consistent with high resolution interconnect/digital cables.

Our proprietary high conductivity alloys vs ‘Pure annealed Copper/Silver’…

    • Our Extrapolation, Testing, and Reports, that we have received are confirming and allowing/permitting further evaluation and extrapolation, as follows…
      • Electrically, the proprietary high conductivity alloys utilised in the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana are equivalent, and even superior, to ‘Pure annealed Copper/Silver’.
          • Pure annealed Copper/Silver (>=99.9999% purity) is >=100% and >=105% IACS conductivity, respectively.
          • KLEI™Harmony plug/banana proprietary high conductivity alloys, we believe are >101%, and even >106%, IACS conductivity.
          • Our evaluation is that the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana proprietary high conductivity alloys are equivalent, and even superior, to ‘Pure annealed Copper/Silver’…
            • As such, we believe that our proprietary high conductivity alloys can be called PURE and equivalent to 99.9999% pure annealed Copper/Silver.
            • Further, we shall now refer to our proprietary high conductivity alloys, that we believe are IACS >101%, as KLEI™PureCopper or KLEI PureCopper™ or KLEIpureCopper™ or KLEIPureCopper™, and our proprietary high conductivity alloys, that we believe are IACS >106%, as KLEI™PureSilver or KLEI PureSilver™ or KLEIpureSilver™ or KLEIPureSilver™.
      • Mechanically, the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana proprietary high conductivity alloys are much stronger than ‘Pure annealed Copper/Silver’ and nearly as strong as the Brass alternatives.
      • Sonically, we believe that the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana proprietary high conductivity alloys are therefore superior to ‘Pure annealed Copper/Silver’, especially when designed in accordance with KL’s (proprietary) Signal/Ground formulae.
          • KL’s (proprietary) Signal/Ground formulae produces a purposeful metallurgical relationship between the Signal and Ground/Return conductors which we believe produces a superior Sonic performance, but ‘the proof is in the listening’.

Conventional RCA’s are designed with a Metal Collar, which is prone to electron turbulence called Eddy Currents. In addition to this Capacitive Reactance and Micro-Arcing are additional artifacts of the metal collar architecture.

    • To combat this KL opted for a Single Point Ground contact similar to Star Ground/Earth in high-end electronics which in turn eliminates every vestige of Eddy Current Turbulence, Capacitive Reactance, and Micro-Arcing.
    • Further, with the KLEI™Harmony plugs design, KL has redesigned the Single Point Ground pin with an optimised shape, mass, and thickness.

The Harmony pins utilise an ultra high purity Silver finish which is formed, in accordance with KL’s (proprietary) Signal/Ground formula, as an integral part of the pins construction, and also helps protect the pins from oxidization and no additional plating is required to preserve signal quality.

Summary

KL believes he has, with this new KLEI™Harmony plug blueprint, solved a series of problems that collectively degrade audio/video performance and that do so in an additive manner. The importance of this innovation and redesign cannot be overstated. Its ramifications extend to every RCA interface in which high quality signal transfer is an issue. Extensive listening and critical comparisons played a major role in the evolution of the design, confirming at every juncture the audibility of properly applied science in even the area of RCA connection.

In Summary, the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana family, which can be viewed as The next generation Eichmann Bullet plug design, is the Sonic culmination of KL’s (proprietary) Signal/Ground formulae when applied to the metallurgical relationship between the Signal and Ground/Return conductors. The Sonic results are the KLEI™Harmony plug range, beginning with the KLEI™Classic Harmony plug through to the KLEI™Absolute Harmony plug, which is the highest Sonic performer of the range, and have now been applied to the KLEI™Harmony banana family.

    • Although the KLEI™Copper Harmony plug is capable of transferring extremely detailed Musical information with very high Resolution, further analysis of Electron Transmission theories (eg. skin effect, to name one of many aspects) revealed that even better/higher performance can/could be attained utilising even higher conductivity alloys.
    • The Signal and Ground must be in harmony with each other, hence the name (Harmony), and this is why KL’s (proprietary) Signal/Ground formula is very important, re each Harmony model.
  • Further rejection of the idea of using a formed metal collar Ground to encircle the centre Signal pin, which KL has replaced with a new Ground pin.
  • The Ground pin creates single point star earthing/grounding which eliminates eddy current distortions, capacitive and inductive reactance, and micro-arcing.
  • The Ground pin includes thread teeth to ensure that if a conductive Housing, ie metal/carbon fibre/etc, is utilised it is star-point grounded.
  • The Signal/Ground pins are now much stronger and now shaped like tags, which makes soldering small/large/multiple conductor wires to them… very easy.
  • A Signal/Ground Anti-Short shield has been added between the Signal/Ground pins.
  • The Signal/Ground pins are now arranged to maintain a consistent maximum distance from each other, using foil technology, which further improves capacitive and inductive reactance effects and minimizes the cross-talk EMF effects that occurs in all other Phono/RCA plugs.
  • The Head Assembly jaw structure has been redesigned, and mechanically improved, to allow an easy snap-like connection to a Phono/RCA socket, ensuring an ultimate connection without damage to the Phono/RCA socket.
  • The Housing now uses 2 screws to secure the cable sheath to the Harmony®Plug housing.
  • Extremely high temperature melting point thermoplastic polymer is used, with excellent electrical and mechanical characteristics, which easily adjusts to your Phono/RCA socket to provide a secure snap-like fit that is easy to disconnect.
  • Having a significantly higher characteristic impedance than conventional RCA plugs makes the Harmony®Plug an ideal connector for Digital Interconnects requiring RCA connectivity in either 50, 75 or 110 ohm applications. Due to the high conductivity rating of the materials used for the conductors in the Copper Harmony, JITTER may/will be significantly reduced.

Burnin/Cooking Time

We believe that the Burnin/Cooking process can be thought of as an extension/finishing of the Annealing process 🙂

This is a practice that can dramatically/drastically improve performance and has been gaining acceptance from HiFi enthusiasts 🙂 Usually, any listener will be able to identify a marked change/improvement in audio component performance within the first 100 or more hours of use, whether it be a cable, connector, component or loudspeaker.

Burnin/Cooking time is the process whereby electrical signal/charge gradually settles/corrects/aligns dielectric, electromagnetic, and material (metal and non-metal) issues that occur/result during the construction process. These aspects are often and usually found in Cables/Connectors and usually results in a brittle, bright, muddy, non-cohesive sound that lacks the Detail, Resolution, Timbre, PRaF, Harmonic Texture, Organicness, Naturalness, and Staging which is desired for music reproduction. Burnin/Cooking Time improves the way that signal passes through the conductors and dielectrics and it is the resulting changes in signal transmission that refines and defines the performance of the audio cables.

While it is most important to implement Burnin/Cooking Time, upon purchase, routine maintenance is always important, also. Cables/Connectors that have not been played, or left unused, for long/prolonged periods of time, may become stagnant and again require Burnin/Cooking Time.

Settling Time

Settling Time is the continuous playing time since the ICs have been reconnected/replugged, after the ICs have been unconnected/unplugged between 2 components, then reconnected.

Vigorously moving/bending the ICs may even require a fresh period of Settling Time.

Cleaning

We strongly recommend against any tampering (ie polishing/sand papering/filing/etc, and ask that it not be encouraged under any circumstance) as the KLEI™Harmony plug/banana have been meticulously designed to very tight tolerances and any tampering may degrade the performance. We believe that cleaning with a soft bristle tooth brush and non-abrasive/non-residue cleaner is sufficient.
