I wanted to give you some feedback on your KLEI™gZero2 ICs, after 8 days of burn-in/cooking. I thought it would be a good idea to let the cable get some use on my system before e-mailing you. I have been listening about 3 hours a day. Quite a few changes in the sound of the cable in this period…
- Day 1, was interesting but nothing stood out
- Day 2, a lot of detail but a little thin
- Day 3, similar previous day but a little tizzy on the high end
- Day 4, sound filled out but was too thick for my taste but on…
- Day 5, a nice balance and since then further refinements in the sound
Yesterday I tried an interesting experiment by using the KLE cable on the left channel output from my CD player to my preamp and from the left output of the Preamp to my Power amp. I duplicated the setup on the right channel using my reference interconnects. Your cable was a definite improvement, that is more detail with an improved sense of hearing the true sound of the instruments and the recording space/environment.
Based on my experience, I kind of think I should have gone for KLEI™gZero3 ICs. Of course you have better cables than the KLEI™gZero3 ICs but they are beyond my budget. I will probably be interested in purchasing the KLEI™gZero3 ICs in the next couple of months.
Your speaker cables also look interesting but right now I am using a bi-wired Synergistic Research Alpha Sterling set with WBT connectors. So I would probably need to change from bi-wire to single wire to keep the cost down. Not sure if there would be an improvement.
I find that the reviews posted on the KLEI website to be very accurate. The positive reviews as well as my experience with the bullet plugs influenced my decision to purchase the cable in the first place. The cables easily lived up to the reviews.
To me the clarity and transparency are the stand-out qualities of the KLEI™gZero2 ICs. I should add that even today I was especially impressed was the distinctive quality of the lower registry of the sound. That is no more one-note type of bass and drums, like a photograph that was slightly out of focus.
I’m looking forward to the next purchase. I think there should be quite a good synergy with the additional cables… JG 🙂 🙂 🙂
