KEITH LOUIS of KLE Innovations has released a fifth member of his Harmony RCA plug series. This new entry slides in above the previous top-of-the-range plug, the KLEI Pure Harmony RCA plugs. The range is a replacement for the legendary Eichmann Bullet that Keith Louis designed over 20 years ago, which also features a single point ground/return contact.

As with the KLEI Pure Harmony RCA plugs, the KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs signal and earth pins are made from a proprietary copper/silver alloy (KLEI PureSilver™) that has >105% IACS conductivity (relative to 100% IACS, the International Annealed Copper Standard). The KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs, however, utilise an even higher spec copper/silver alloy (KLEI PureSilver™), the details of which are a closely guarded secret.

Absolutely fabulous, I have been impressed by the KLEI Pure Harmony RCA plugs in the past but will I be able to detect any improvements with the KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs? I make up a set of interconnects using the same wire as with the KLEI Pure Harmony RCA plugs. After running them in, I am greeted with the excellent imaging, bass control and dynamics that characterise the other KLEI Pure Harmony RCA plugs. I swap back to the KLEI Pure Harmony RCA plugs and although to my ears they sound the same as the KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs in terms of describable metrics, I don’t experience the same level of enjoyment that I do with the KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs.

Listening to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, the final movement sounds more rousing with the KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs and the choral segments are a tad more exciting. If you’re into making up your own interconnects, then the new KLEI Absolute Harmony RCA plugs absolutely deserve to be placed at the end of your cables… Neville Roberts, Hi-Fi Choice 🙂

So, why would you use the KLEI Absolute Harmony plug, as opposed to the Pure Harmony plug, or Silver Harmony plug or Copper Harmony plug?

I use the KLEI Absolute Harmony plug because currently, I believe there is no other RCA plug capable of performing to the same level.

However, as with everything in life, one’s budget can be a deciding factor, so the Harmony Range provides an RCA solution to fit several budgets. The Copper Harmony plug is an excellent performer and each successive model extends the abilities of its predecessor to provide a musical performance of the highest calibre.
